Details: A commanding architectural presence

The Heritage Note

Sourced in the South of France, this classical jardinière brings an extraordinary sense of architectural weight and history to the interior. Forged from heavy cast iron—traditionally known in France as fonte—it was designed in the timeless Medici campana urn form, featuring deep fluting around its lower bowl, a square pedestal base, and a beautifully detailed, repetitive motif along the rim.

Unlike highly polished bronze or fragile ceramics, this piece is defined by its rugged, enduring substance. It has been finished in a soft, matte stone hue, possessing a heavily textured, time-worn patina that mimics the look of ancient garden statuary while retaining the indestructible core of solid iron.

Measuring 28 centimeters across and standing 20 centimeters tall, its substantial weight makes it a commanding centerpiece. Whether used to house a spilling indoor topiary, presenting rolled antique paper ephemera, or standing completely empty to showcase its sculptural form, it is a magnificent anchor for a thoughtfully curated room.
