Details: Exceptional 19th-century earthenware with traditional Eastern figures
The Heritage Note
Crafted by the esteemed Sarreguemines manufactory, this exceptional 19th-century earthenware set captures the era's deep fascination with global trade and regional Asian art. The intricate transferware depicts traditional Eastern figures and rich narrative scenes, bringing a captivating worldly elegance to the provincial table.
The set features two beautifully distinct vessels—a slender 6-centimeter cup and a wider 8-centimeter bowl—paired gracefully with a 13-centimeter saucer. The warm earthenware is enveloped in a beautiful, heavy crazing that speaks to a century of history in the French countryside.
We believe in the beauty of the scars. A tiny, 1-millimeter time-worn chip along the rim of the saucer stands as a quiet hallmark of its authenticity. Whether holding a morning espresso or acting as a textured, sculptural display piece, this set is a masterful representation of 19th-century ceramic artistry.
